Stock Donations

Consider paying your outstanding obligations or make an additional donation to Keter Torah through the donation and transfer of appreciated publicly-traded securities.

When you donate appreciated stock to Keter Torah, you generally don’t have to pay capital gains and you can take an income tax deduction for the full fair-market value.

How this Works
EXAMPLE: Your initial $5,000 investment is now worth $80,000. If you sell the stock you would owe taxes on the $75,000 profit. Instead, contribute that stock to Keter Torah and receive a tax deduction of $80,000, resulting in a capital gains tax of ZERO.

How to Transfer Your Stock
The process is simple. You request your financial institution to transfer your shares to the following Merrill Lynch account:

DTC# 8862
Name: Northern Teaneck Synagogue
Acct#: 5mw-07F44

Let us know if you transfer any securities so we can follow up to record your donation accordingly.

Remember to consult your accountant or other tax adviser for your individual situations.

Thank you for your support.
