Rael Blumenthal - Rabbinic Intern
Rabbi Rael Blumenthal was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, and is currently completing Semicha at Yeshiva University. After graduating as Head Boy of his high school (Yeshiva College of South Africa), Rael learned at Yeshivat Kerem B'Yavneh for 3 years. Thereafter, he made the leap and came to the US, where he attended Yeshiva University's Yeshiva College, completing a BA in Computer Science in 2010.
In addition to his semicha studies, Rael is the director of NCSY in Teaneck and runs dozens of regular educational and outreach programs, as well as TJJ (The Jerusalem Journey), an annual summer trip to Israel for public school teens. Rael and his wife Aliza host a weekly shabbat oneg at their home in Teaneck, where local teens can enjoy a good schmooze and great food, and can hang out with friends and advisors.
Rael is incredibly excited for the opportunity to join Keter Torah and is looking forward to meeting and learning with the members of this kehilla.
