{     KT welcomes the Yeshiva at IDT Shabbaton participants. The Yeshiva’s minyan tonight will take place at 4:20pm in the Beit Midrash. There will also be an Oneg Shabbat tonight from 8:30-10:00pm at the home of Leelee & Rabbi Duvie Weiss, 40 Highgate Terrace, New Milford; everyone is invited.

Keter Torah News

{     The Matan Mother-Daughter Bat Mitzvah Program, led by Debbie Baum, will begin Wednesday, December 3, at 7:00pm.

{     On Motzei Shabbat, December 13, Alyssa & Ari Forman and Ted Mirkhani will be honored at the Project Ezrah dinner. For more information see Elana or Marc Rothenberg or call 201-569-9047.

{     On Monday, December 15, at 7:00pm, the Teaneck Council of the Jewish National Fund of America will present its 2008 Circle of Excellence award to Anita & Jerome Milch and Wendy & Isaac Shulman. For further information, call Buzzy Green at 201-928-0840.

{     As a chesed project, Ariela Katz is collecting toiletry kits to bring to Bayit Lepletot, a girls’ orphanage in Jerusalem. Any family that wishes to assist may drop off kits at the Shul office.

{     KT is hosting an event this Tuesday. Parking spaces will be available for Mincha/Ma’ariv, but, if possible, please walk to Shul.

{     Anyone wishing to sponsor the Parent and Child Learning raffle prizes or breakfast for the Breakfast & Learn class should contact the Shul office at howard@ketertorah.org.

 

ATARA News

{     On Thursday, December 4, at 8:00pm at Keter Torah, Sarah Ra’anan will speak on “Learn How to Take Better Pictures With Your Digital Camera.” For more information, contact Jennie Mohl at jenmohl@optonline.net or 201-287-0589.

{     The ATARA Chanukah Mini-Mall will take place on Sunday, December 14. Remember to sign up your children for the magic show, starting at 4:15pm and featuring “Philip and Henry.” For more information, contact Ruti Galandauer at 201-692-1966 or ruti@optonline.net.

 

Youth News

{     Children in grades 4-8 are invited to the monthly Seuda this Shabbat, between Mincha and Ma’ariv. Sushi will be served.

{     A special thank you to Yocheved Savetsky and Eliezer Gross for coordinating the event last Motzei Shabbat at the Bogotá Golf Course, which was attended by 40 teens.

{     Over 120 children from KT attended the Pajama/Movie night last Motzei Shabbat. Thank you to all who came and made the event such a great success.

{     Children in grades 3-6 are asked to reserve Motzei Shabbat, December 20, for a Chanukah Macabia at City Sports. Details to follow.

 

Community News

{     The Teaneck Shuls fundraiser this year is for Tomchei Shabbos of Bergen County, which provides Shabbat meals to needy Jewish families in Bergen County. To donate, contact Shari Lindenbaum at 201-833-1950.

{     A dessert reception for the One Family Fund will be held this Monday at 7:30pm at the home of Susan & Yussi Zelig, 420 Vomel Drive, New Milford.

{     Rabbi Dr. Abraham Twerski will speak at Yavneh Academy this Monday at 8:00pm on “Instilling Spirituality in our Children.”

{     This Thursday after the 8:00am minyan at Rinat, Yisrael Gottesman will speak on “Why is This Erev Pesach Different Than All Other Arvei Pesachim for the Next 500 Years?”

{     On Wednesday, December 3, at 8:00pm at Rinat, Rabbi Chaim Druckman will speak on “You Should Love the Convert.”

{     The UJA Federation of Northern NJ annual community phonathon will take place on Sunday, December 7, from 9:00am to 9:00pm. To volunteer, contact Allison Halpern at allisonh@ujannj.org.
