Note from Rabbi Baum Regarding the Four Minim

{     You are encouraged to purchase Dalid Minim grown in Israel, despite the fact that this is a post- Shemitta year. I will provide guidance for discarding the Dalid Minim in a shiur on Sukkot. I strongly discourage purchasing Lulavim and/ or Etrogim from Spain, Egypt or Italy.

{     Volunteers are needed to put up the Shul Sukkah. Anyone able to offer assistance should come to the Shul on Motzei Shabbat at 8:00pm.

{     We thank those who have already participated in the Kol Nidrei appeal. If you have not yet made a pledge, please do so by contacting Yossi Katz at Josef.katz@gmail.com or the Shul office as soon as possible.

{     Keter Torah is hosting an event this Sunday. Parking spaces will be available for Mincha / Ma’ariv, but if possible, please walk to Shul.

{     Keter Torah is hosting Yachad for Simchat Torah. We are looking for volunteers to house the Yachad participants, who will also be joining their hosts for dinner on Monday night, October 20. To volunteer, please contact Zeeva Sklar at 201-836-0163 or zeevasklar@aol.com .

{     Dena & Mark Levie invite the entire community to their annual Sukkah kumzitz for an evening of singing, divrei torah and desserts on Friday, October 17, at 8:30pm at 672 Rutland Avenue. Guests are welcome! No RSVP required.

{     The community- wide Simchat Beit Hashoava will take place Sunday, October 19, at 6:30pm at KT.

{     Chazzan Yaakov Motzen will serve as our guest Ba’al Tefillah on Shabbat Parshat Bereshit, October 24-25. Yaakov will daven Friday night and Shabbat morning at the 9:00am minyan and he will lead a song filled Seuda Shlishit on Shabbat afternoon. {     Rabbi Yisroel Reisman’s weekly satellite Navi shiur resumes Motzei Shabbat, October 25, at 9:00pm at Keter Torah.

 

ATARA News

{     The deadline to RSVP for the Simchat Torah lunch with our Yachad guests has been extended to this Sunday, October 12. For reservations, call Shari Katz at 201-530-0559.

 

Youth News

{     All children are invited to help decorate the KT Sukkah this Sunday from 12:00pm-1:00pm.

{     There will be groups on the first and second days of Sukkot.

{     Children in kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to join us for our annual Sukkah hop on Wednesday, the second day of Sukkot. Drop off is at 4:25pm, and pick up is at 5:55pm at Keter Torah. Snacks should be eaten in the hosts’ Sukkot. Please do not send bags with your children.

 

Torah Tots

{     Children up to 2 1/2 years old and their parents are invited to join our Mommy & Me program on Shabbat mornings from 10:45-11:15am in the upstairs Shul apartment. To join the rotation of parent volunteers, contact Zeeva Sklar at 201-836-0163 or zeevasklar@aol.com.
