Yamim Noraim

{     To ensure proper planning, please notify the Shul office if you will not be using your seats for either Rosh Hashana or Yom Kippur.

{     Volunteers are needed to join the Yom Kippur appeal committee. Please contact Yossi Katz at Josef.katz@gmail.com to offer assistance.

{     On both days of Rosh Hashana and on Yom Kippur, day care for children in nursery through grade 5 will begin at 8:00am. There will also be special learning and davening led by Rabbi Ausubel, our new Rabbinic Intern, for children in grades 3-6 for the last hour and 15 minutes of the Rosh Hashana davening.

{     KT is proud to host SPARK High Holiday explanatory services again this year.  Services on Rosh Hashana are from 10:00-11:45am, followed by Kiddush.

 

Keter Torah News

{     Pruzbul forms for outstanding loans and a Beth Din will be available this Sunday from 8:00-10:00am in the conference room. According to the minhag, those not involved in lending money should also sign a Pruzbul.

{     Thank you to the Keter Torah community, which contributed more than 50 bags of food to the Center for Food Action and to Genene Kaye & Sarina Gross for their efforts on behalf of this important cause.

{     Thank you to Etti Stavsky, Shari Katz and Richard Alexander for their work on the “Rosh Hashana Greetings.”  

{     On Monday, October 6, at 8:00pm, Rabbi Yisroel Reisman will deliver a shiur at Keter Torah entitled “Erev Yom Kippur Thoughts.”

{     Girls turning 12 from November 2008 through October 2009 and their mothers who are interested in the Keter Torah Matan Bat Mitzvah class should contact Debbie Baum at ydembaum@aol.com for information.

{     EZRAH’s Closet, a gemach for Shabbat & Yom Tov girl’s clothing, located at 1135 Boulevard, New Milford, is open Thursdays from 12:00noon to 2:00pm or by appointment. For information contact Dawn Orlinsky at 201-674-1439 or Myriam Einhorn at 646-232-6395.

 

Keter Torah Oneg Shabbat

{     The third annual “Yamim Noraim Friday Night Oneg Shabbat” will take place next Friday, October 3, at 8:45pm at the home of Renee & Daniel Seidman, 49 Hampton Court, Bergenfield and will feature Donny Baitner and his friends from Sheer Simcha. Refreshments- including cholent- will be served.

 

ATARA News

{     Thank you to the over 200 people who attended and made the KT picnic fun for all.

{     Thank you to the picnic committee chairs, Lauren Blumenfeld and Jenny Mohl, and committee members Gail Rieder, Malkie Bernheim, Zeeva Sklar, Susan Zelig, Gitty Eisner, Shira Mirkhani, Heidi Kuperman, Rachel Kaminetzky and Sarina Gross for all their hard work.

Youth News

{     Join KTYD for a live bee demonstration to learn where honey comes from this Monday, Erev Rosh Hashana, from 10:00-11:00am at KT. Space is limited to 40 people. To register, e-mail rivki19@yahoo.com.

{     The KTYD is looking for families to host the Sukkah Hop on October 15. If you have a child in kindergarten through fifth grade and would like to host, contact Rivki at rivki19@yahoo.com.

 

Torah Tots

{     Children up to 2 1/2 years old and their parents are invited to join our Mommy & Me program on Shabbat mornings from 10:45-11:15am in the upstairs Shul apartment. To join the rotation of parent volunteers, contact Zeeva Sklar at 201-836-0163 or zeevasklar@aol.com.

{     This Sunday, after the 8:00am Shacharit at Rinat, Rav Hershel Schachter will speak on “Malchuyot, Zichronot and Shofrot.”

{     UJA Federation of Northern New Jersey’s Bonim Builders have volunteers available to help assemble sukkahs for senior citizens or someone infirm and in need of assistance. For information, contact Genene Kaye at 201-820-9303 or genenek@ujannj.org.
