Torah in the AM

{     Starting its second season, “Torah in the AM,” meeting Tuesday & Thursday at Keter Torah, provides an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in interactive study.

{     9:30-10:30am – Talmud shiur, led by Rabbi Menahem Meier

{     10:40-11:30am (Thursday) – Study of Ezekiel with Rabbi Meier

Yamim Noraim

{     In order to ensure proper planning please notify the Shul office if you will not be using your seats for either Rosh Hashana or Yom Kippur.

{     On both days of Rosh Hashana and on Yom Kippur, day care for children in nursery through fifth grade will begin at 8:00am. There will also be special learning and davening for children in grades 3 - 6 for approximately the last hour and fifteen minutes of the Rosh Hashana davening.

{     Keter Torah is proud to host SPARK High Holiday explanatory services again this year. Please tell your friends, family, and colleagues about this wonderful opportunity. For more information, times of services and reservations, please call the Shul office.

 

Keter Torah News

{     Selichot next Motzei Shabbat will be at 12:00 midnight.

{     Pruzbul forms for outstanding loans and a Beth Din will be available next Sunday September 21, and Sunday, September 28, from 8:00am - 10:00am. The minhag is for those not involved in lending money to also sign a Pruzbul.

{     Keter Torah is hosting events this Sunday and Thursday. Parking spaces will be available for Mincha/Ma’ariv, but, if possible, please walk to Shul.

{     The coatroom and all boxes in the Sanctuary will be cleaned before Rosh Hashana. Please remove all personal belongings and books.

{     Anyone wishing to co-sponsor Kiddush next Shabbat, September 20, should contact Daniel Seidman at Daniel.i.seidman@questdiagnostics.com.

{     Shaimos drop off at Keter Torah will be on Sunday, September 21, from 7:00am-11:00am.

{     Drop off of non-perishable food items for the Center for Food Action will be on Sunday, September 21, from 7:00-11:00am at Keter Torah or from 3:30-6:00pm at the Shul picnic. For details, please contact Genene Kaye at 201-928-0561 or gmkaye@optonline.net.

{     The next Carlebach style minyan will take place on Friday, September 26, at 6:30pm.

{     On Monday, October 6, at 8:00pm, Rabbi Yisroel Reisman will deliver a shiur at Keter Torah entitled “Erev Yom Kippur Thoughts.”

{     Girls turning 12 from November 2008 through October 2009 and their mothers who are interested in the Keter Torah Matan Bat Mitzvah class should contact Debbie Baum at ydembaum@aol.com for information.

{     ATARA’s pre-yom tov hat sale will be held this Wednesday from 7:00-9:00pm at Keter Torah. For more information, contact Zeeva Sklar at 201-836-0163.

Youth News

{     Rabbi Baum will give a Dvar Torah at the KTYD lunch this Shabbat for children in grades 1-4.

{     This Shabbat, between Mincha and Ma’ariv, Rabbi Baum will speak at the monthly Seuda, led by Ari Weisbrot, for children in grades 4-8. Sushi will be served.

{     Join KTYD for a live bee demonstration to learn where honey comes from on Sunday, September 29, from 10:00-11:00am at KT. Space is limited to 40 people. To register, e-mail rivki19@yahoo.com.

Torah Tots
