Torah in the AM

Meeting Tuesday & Thursday, from 9:00am to noon, Torah in the AM provides an opportunity

for people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in shiurim and Chavruta study.

Keter Torah News

{     Keter Torah is hosting events this Sunday and Monday. Parking spaces will be available for Mincha/Ma’ariv, but if possible, please walk to shul.

{     Next Shabbat, Rabbi Dr. Mordechai Cohen, Associate Professor of Bible at Yeshiva University, will be our guest speaker at Seuda Shlishit.   His topic will be “Theology of Hesed in Ruth: From Human to Divine.”

{     Rabbi Menachem Leibtag, will be our Shavuot scholar-in residence. His weekly essays on Parshat Ha’shavua are read by thousands of subscribers worldwide and reflect over twenty years of experience as a student and teacher at Yeshivat Har Etzion in Israel.

{     Women and girls, ages 10 and up, are invited to a weekly Tehillim Chaburah on Tuesdays from 9:00-9:30pm. This week’s meeting will be at the home of Lorraine Klyman, 649 Maitland Avenue, Teaneck.

ATARA News       

{     The Spring Tea will be held this Shabbat at 4:30pm. Philyss Seidenfeld will speak on “At Peace With the Life I Didn’t Ask For.”

{     Children are encouraged to participate in birthday or bar/bat mitzvah ma’aser by donating a gift to Chai Lifeline for a less fortunate child. For more information contact Chana Besterman at 201-385-6666.

 

Youth News

{     Rabbi Baum will give a Dvar Torah at the KTYD lunch this Shabbat for children in grades 1-4.

{     This Shabbat, between Mincha & Ma’ariv, Ari Weisbrot will speak at the monthly Shabbat Mevarchim Seuda for children in grades 4-8. Sushi will be served.

{     Tikun Leil Shavuot programming will feature presentations by Rabbi Baum for children in grades 4 & 5, Rabbi Jonathan Knapp for grades 6-8, and Rabbi Aaron Leibtag for high school students.

{     Shabbat, June 21, is Youth Shabbat. Plan to join us as our children daven, lain and share Divrei Torah.

 

Community News

{     The Salute to Israel parade will take place this Sunday, June 1, from 11:00am-4:30pm. The parade route begins at 57th Street and Fifth Avenue & continues north on Fifth avenue to 79th Street.

{     All registered voters are urged to participate in the primary elections this Tuesday, June 3.

{     Rav Hershel Schachter’s weekly shiur continues Thursday at 9:00pm at Bnai Yeshurun.
