{     Meeting Tuesday & Thursday, from 8:50am to noon, Torah in the AM provides an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in shiurim and Chavruta study

 

 

 

Next Shabbat at Keter Torah

{     There will be a Carlebach style minyan next Friday at 6:45pm.

{     Manhattan Jewish Experience Shabbaton

{     Rabbi Yuval Cherlow, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivat Hesder of Petach Tikva, Senior Member of Tzohar Rabbinical leadership and noted author of Jewish literature, will give two talks on Shabbat afternoon. At 6:30pm he will speak on “A Spiritual Perspective on the Israeli-Arab Conflict,” and after the 7:40pm Mincha, he will speak on “In What State is ‘The State’?!, A Spiritual Perspective on the Challenges Facing Israel After 60 Years of Independence.” Rabbi Cherlow will also give the Hashkama shiur on Shabbat morning. His topic will be: ”Social Justice and the Foundations of Faith, The Pursuit of Social Justice in Israel Today.”

 

Upcoming Events at Keter Torah

{     The community-wide Yom Hazikaron observance and Yom Ha’atzmaut celebration will be held on Wednesday, May 7, at 7:15pm.

{     On Sunday, May 11, at 7:30pm, there will be a screening of the film “Lonely Man of Faith: The Life and Legacy of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik.” This community- wide event will include a panel discussion featuring Rabbi Yosef Adler, Rabbi Jacob J. Schacter and Rabbi Michael Taubes, distinguished students of The Rav.

 

ATARA News

{     Ronit is back, an 8-week “Mommy and Me” program for children ages six months to three years old, begins this Wednesday at 9:30am, at Keter Torah. To register or for more information, please contact Ronit Wenger at 201-244-6090 or arwenger@verizon.net.

{     ATARA’s annual Membership Event, featuring a cookie decorating class with Ann Holler, will take place on Sunday, May 18, from 8:00pm-9:30pm at the home of Heidi Kuperman, 1106 Allessandrini Avenue, New Milford.

Community News

{     This Thursday, May 1 at 7:30pm at Teaneck High School, Henry Fenichel, child survivor of Bergen Belzen, will speak at the community-wide annual Holocaust commemoration.

{     Sponsored by the Orthodox Union and the RCBC, Rabbi Daniel Z. Feldman & Rabbi Simon H. Feld will give presentations about “Understanding the Meaning and Ramifications of Bikur Cholim for the Community,” next Motzei Shabbat, May 3, from 9:30-11:00pm at Bnai Yeshurun.
