Upcoming Events at Keter Torah

{     Rav Hershel Schachter, Rosh Yeshiva at Yeshiva University, will speak on Minhagei Sefirah this Wednesday, April 23, at 8:15pm.

{     The next Carlebach style minyan will be on Friday, May 2, at 6:45pm.

{     The Manhattan Jewish Experience Shabbaton will take place on May 2-3.

{     On Shabbat, May 3, Rabbi Yuval Cherlow will be our Scholar in Residence. See flier for details.

{     The community-wide Yom Hazikaron observance and Yom Ha’atzmaut celebration will be held on Wednesday, May 7, at 7:15pm.

{     On Sunday, May 11, at 7:30pm, there will be a screening of the film “Lonely Man of Faith: The Life and Legacy of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik” as well as a panel discussion featuring Rabbi Yosef Adler, Rabbi Jacob J. Schacter and Rabbi Michael Taubes, distinguished students of The Rav.

 

ATARA News

{     Ronit is back with her 8-week “Mommy and Me” program for children ages 6 months to 3 years. It will meet at Keter Torah on Wednesdays, beginning April 30, at 9:30am. To register or for more information, contact Ronit Wenger at 201-244-6090 or arwenger@verizon.net.

{     ATARA’s annual Membership Event, featuring a cookie decorating class with Ann Holler, will take place on Sunday, May 18, from 8:00pm-9:30pm at the home of Heidi Kuperman, 1106 Allessandrini Avenue, New Milford.

{     The Spring Tea, acknowledging the contributions of Dassi Silverman and Naomi Rosen to ATARA, will be held on Shabbat, May 31. To join the committee, e-mail Shari Katz at shari_katz@yahoo.com or Rachel Schneider at rkschneider@mindspring.com.

 

Youth News

{     There will be no youth groups this Shabbat or Sunday, but there will be groups for children 3 years old through kindergarten on Monday, the second day Yom Tov. Regular groups will meet on the last days of Yom Tov.

 

Community News

{     This Tuesday at 7:20pm at Congregation Shomrei Emunah, 89 Huguenot Avenue, Englewood, Rabbi Zevulun Charlop, Rabbi Menachem Genack, Rabbi Doniel Lander and Rabbi Herschel Reichman, will give memorial shiurim commemorating the 15th yahrzeit of HaRav HaGaon Joseph B. Soloveitchik, z”l.

{     The annual community-wide Yom Hashoah Holocaust commemoration, featuring Henry Fenichel, child survivor of Bergen-Belzen, will take place on Thursday, May 1, at 7:30pm at Teaneck High School.

{     The NORPAC mission to Washington will take place on Wednesday, May 21. Register at www.norpac.net or call Joel at 201-788-5133.
