Keter Torah Shiurim

{     Rabbi Baum will deliver the shiur between Mincha & Ma’ariv on “Labor Day Halachot: Hilchot Employee.”

       Wednesday at 8:30pm – Rabbi Duvie Weiss’ Gmara shiur.

       Thursday, 5:45pm-6:45pm – Pizza and Parasha for children entering grades 2-5.

       Thursday, 9:00pm – Rav Yissocher Frand’s Weekly Satellite shiur. Sponsors welcome.

{     On Wednesday, September 19, at 8:00pm, Rabbi Reisman will deliver a shiur at Keter Torah on the topic, “48 Hours till Kol Nidrei”.

 

Scholar in Residence

{     Keter Torah looks forward to welcoming Rabbi Kenneth Brander as scholar in residence next Shabbat, Parashat Nitzavim/Vayelech. See flyer for more information. Rabbi Brander will also deliver the pre Slichot shiur at 11:30pm; Slichot will be at 12:00midnight.

 

Keter Torah News

{     Anyone who can help polish silver for the Yamim Noraim is asked to contact the office.

{     Keter Torah is hosting a wedding this Sunday, limiting parking spaces for Mincha/Ma’ariv. If possible, please walk to Shul. Your understanding is appreciated.

{     Teen Minyan resumes this Shabbat at 9:15am in the Beit Midrash.

{     The Second Annual “Elul Friday Night Oneg Shabbat” will take place next week at 9:15pm and will feature Ari Greene and the BaRock singers. This event is sponsored by Renee & Daniel Seidman in honor of Avi’s Bar Mitzvah.

{     Shaimos drop off at Keter Torah will be on Sunday, September 9.

{     The Teaneck Scholar Series will present four sessions on "Teshuvah & Hasidism: 18th Century texts at the start of the 21st Century," on September 4, 10, 17 & 24 from 9:00pm to 10:00pm in the Keter Torah Beit Midrash. For information, contact Adam Berner at Ajberner@aol.com.

 

Yamim Noraim

{     The deadline for the High Holidays seating requests has passed. Reservations received at this time will be assigned based on availability. Applications are available in the office.

{     Keter Torah is hosting High Holiday explanatory services again this year. For more information, please e mail spark@ketertorah.org.

{     On both days of Rosh Hashanah and on Yom Kippur, children’s day care for nursery through fifth grade will begin at 8:00am. A special learning and davening will take place for children in grades 3-5.

 

ATARA News

{     Thank you to all the families that attended ATARA’s annual family picnic. 

{     Thank you to the picnic committee chairs, Lauren Blumenfeld and Malki Bernheim, and committee members Gail Rieder, Liliane Bergstein, Susan Zelig, Zeeva Sklar, Chana Besterman, Francine Weisbrot and Gila Elbaum for all their hard work.

{     Youth groups resume next Shabbat.

 

Torah Tots

{     Parents of small children are invited to our Mommy and Me program on Shabbat mornings from 10:30am to 11:15am in the shul apartment.

 

Community News

{     This Sunday & Monday, Chinuch Atzmai will host a mini-Yom Iyun, commemorating the fifth yahrzeit of Eitan Shapiro. On Sunday morning, classes will be given by Rav Reuven Feinstein and Rav Shmuel Kamenetsky at Beth Aaron, and on Monday morning, classes will be given by Rav Aharon Feldman and Rav Yochanan Zweig at Beth Abraham.  On each day, the first shiur will begin at 9:00am and the second at 10:00am.
