Keter Torah Shiurim

{     The Oneg Shabbat with Rabbi Baum, for children entering grades 3-5, featuring learning, stories, refreshments and raffles, will take place this afternoon at 6:30pm at the Shul.

{     Rabbi Baum will give a short shiur on “Rabbi Meir’s Position on Expelling Jews from the Community” at Seuda Shlishit.

       Wednesday at 8:30pm – Rav Duvie Weiss’ Gmara shiur.

      Thursday, 5:15pm-6:15pm – Pizza and Parasha for children entering grades 3-5.

{     Keter Torah is hosting a wedding this Sunday. Parking spaces will be available for Mincha/Ma’ariv, however if possible please walk to Shul. Your understanding is appreciated.

{     We are looking for co-sponsors for Kiddushim on Shabbat, August 18 & 25. To sponsor, please contact Daniel Seidman at Daniel.I.Seidman@QuestDiagnostics.com.

{     The Second Annual “Elul Friday Night Oneg Shabbat” will take place on September 7 at 9:15pm and will feature Ari Greene and the BaRock Orchestra. This event is sponsored by Renee & Daniel Seidman in honor of Avi’s Bar Mitzvah.

{     Registration for the Keter Torah/Matan Bat Mitzvah Program, for girls turning 12 from November 2007 through October 2008, is in progress. For more information, please contact Debbie Baum at ydembaum@aol.com.

{     A Keter Torah social committee is in formation and is planning a major event for the fall. Please e-mail Rabbi Baum if you are interested in joining this committee or if you have other ideas.

 

Yamim Noraim

{     If you have not yet done so, please send in your Yamim Noraim seat reservations, by fax, e-mail, mail or through our website, www.ketertorah.org.

{     Keter Torah is proud to host High Holiday explanatory services again this year. Led by Rabbi & Mrs. Dan Coleman, this outreach program will provide attendees the opportunity to explore the significance of the High Holidays and the meaning behind the prayers. Children's programs will also be available. Please tell your friends, family, and colleagues about this wonderful opportunity. For more information, times of services and reservations, please call the Shul office.

{     On both days of Rosh Hashana and on Yom Kippur, children’s programming for nursery through fifth grade will begin at 8:00am. A special learning and davening will take place for children in grades 3-5, beginning at Torah reading through the Rabbi’s drasha at the Beit Knesset minyan and continuing for approximately one hour following the Beit Midrash minyan.

 

ATARA News

{     Rosh Hashana Greetings – Extend good wishes to your family, friends and fellow members by sending in your listing by August 20 for inclusion in the Rosh Hashana edition of the Keter Torah newsletter. {     ATARA’s annual family picnic will be held on Sunday, August 26, at 3:30pm at Sheridan Park, New Milford.

Torah Tots

{     Parents of small children are invited to join our Mommy and Me program on Shabbat mornings from 10:30am-11:15am in the Shul apartment. We are also looking for volunteers to help run this program.

{     A new singles database has been started by seven women from Teaneck and Englewood. Those interested should go to www.northjerseyshidduch.org to fill out a form and upload a picture.

Chessed Opportunity – Hachnasat Kalla. Anyone wishing to donate new, unopened household items, gifts, or Judaica should contact Atara Gruenspecht at 201-214-7577. All items will be donated to "Ten Yad", an organization in Brooklyn that provides assistance to young brides who cannot afford the necessities of starting a new home.
